I love my bag so much, that after nearly 3 years, I felt the need to update my review. This bag is the only gear I own since I started backpacking 3 years ago, that I have never even thought about the need to upgrade. In 2018, I did many overnight backpacking trips, Eagle Rock Loop, AR, segment of the AT in NC. In 2019, I did ERL Arkansas, Big Bend NP, many local nights and 3 trips to Colorado. In 2020, I went to Colorado for backpacking twice, plus all local backpacking. I've used my sleeping bag probably 30-45 nights in the backcountry and slept in bed probably another 10 nights. I still love it!I've honestly never washed it. I air it out, but even though it seems clean and has no noticeable smell, I probably should wash it. My tag looks nothing like the tag in the picture, included with the 1 star review that complains about 550...Does she not see it says 550g...not 550 Fill Power. Anyway, her tag is worn. She either washed it a lot, used it a lot, or both. I think she should review that, not what she just noticed on her tag.My sleeping bag is super warm, but the coldest I've camped in was probably low 30's. Maybe one night I remember thinking it was probably at it's lowest limit. When I went to CO in October, I brought a fleece liner for the inside. It weighed more and was bigger than the sleeping bag! Between both of them, I was super cozy and warm. 95% of the time, I just used my sleeping bag. This last year I quit using the compression bag. It worked great, but by stuffing the sleeping bag into the bottom of my pack, it feels in all the gaps and takes up even less space. I could imagine, maybe the bottom 4 inches or so.Since I bought my sleeping bag, I've gone through countless sleeping pads. I've bought 2 tents and still looking for a better one. I've gone through 3 trek poles, 2 stoves, etc... My sleeping bag is good and is the only gear I got right from the beginning. Now, I'd be hesitant to buy another because they changed the down. Maybe it's better, IDK, but it's synthetic and different. I've also looked at the Hyke & Byke tents a lot. They seem nice, but I'm hesitant to pull the trigger.I'm just thankful I bought this sleeping bag in the beginning and I don't need to upgrade or spend any more money. It is ultralight, warm and packs down good. Not to mention cheap, compared to the name brands you find at the outfitters. Great buy!Updated May 22, 2021...from 4 to 5 stars... (Bought 3 years ago.)Below is my older review(s).(WARNING: Bag has been redesigned since my review and since most of the other reviews were left.)I'd never bought anything with down before this bag and never spent much on a sleeping bag period. I was real excited and nervous, since this was a huge investment for me. I've been backpacking at least 2 nights a month, every month for the last year. I was also planning a week long AT hike and didn't want to much weight. When it first came in, I tested camping in the backyard and just laying in my bed. I'd never had down before, so the softness is just amazing. I really liked it, but I couldn't get the down to even out over my back and butt area. Since I spent so much and 30 days was approaching, I almost returned it.Eventually I learned that down does no good when compressed, so it would be pointless to have down at the back and butt area. That's why you still need a sleeping pad, even in a hammock. Now everything about it is perfect and I love it. I spent some cold nights on the AT, woke up covered in frost, but my bag stayed warm. There is also plenty of down at the feet and in the hood. This bag is warm! It's almost been a year, so I thought it would be nice to give a good honest review. I'm not a tester or anything. You can look at my other reviews and know I'm for real. If you have lots of experience with down and high end camping gear, then you may feel different. I don't see how personally, because I love it. It's gotten damp and didn't soak up any water. It's super light and compacts real small. The amount of space you save in your bag is a huge plus!I gotta go, so just trust me and buy this if your on the fence. (ALSO, NEVER WASH! All the bad reviews seem to be people that tried to wash it in there washer machine. Wow! lol. I wouldn't even try with all those down feathers. So far, mine is still plenty clean. A silk liner is also a good idea if you know you will be nasty getting in and out.
